Here's some fresh original music for you guys!  I've been trying very hard to achieve that elusive production blend between the acoustic sounds that I love and the new age beat structures/ percussive rhythms that I find blissfully hypnotic.  Please check out my new song and share it if you enjoy what you're hearing!




On a side note: I'll be spinning/performing some music live at Avalon bar in Costa Mesa, Saturday May 4.  There will be an art showcase, lots of good tunes, and chill peeps to hang out with all night so come check it out!

Musical Musings

We are lucky to live during an amazing time for music.  The advancement of production technology has opened up seemingly unlimited possibilities for arrangements of sounds and rhythms, and many new producers are tending towards novel and abstract styles of composition.  The result: dynamic works of auditory expression that are interesting listening-experiences for the mind and transcend conventional genre-labeling.

I would like to share a new track of mine- one that represents my effort to balance/harmonize acoustic recordings with electronic samples, gentle melodies with heavier basslines, and organic textures with driving percussions, all layered within a coherent beat structure.

NEW JUSTICE ALBUM ART

While browsing HYPETRAK, I found this little piece (above) and supposedly it's artwork for the new Justice album. Needless to say I am super stoked! Justice has been out of the spotlight for some time, but hopefully their release of "Civilization" later this year will catapult them back into the electro music scene. If you don't remember their success in 2007 with † or "Cross Symbol" then here are a few videos from that album to refresh your memory.

A good friend, Peter Ebiner, saw them in concert for New Years Eve last year and only confirmed how hard they throw down on the decks when they perform live. Coachella 2k12 anyone? I'll have my fingers †ed.
