George Square Thatcher Death Party (Justin K. Broadrick reshape)

A Wrenched Virile Lore is a collection of remixes of tracks from Mogwai’s critically acclaimed Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will album. Featuring contributions from a diverse range of artists from Zombi to The Soft Moon, this record offers some unique and inspired interpretations of Mogwai’s seventh studio album.

The A Wrenched Virile Lore album will be available in the following formats: as a limited-edition, colored 2xLP (with digital download code) on Black Friday, November 23 and on CD and digitally on December 4. The album will also be available in Europe via Rock Action on November 19.

Starting today, the download of the Justin K. Broadrick (from Godflesh/Jesu) remix of “George Square Thatcher Death Party” is available for one and all.

"How would you describe Fecal Face to someone that may be unfamiliar?
Well, it went online in 2000, and back then there wasn't much in the way of art/ skate centric websites online. We were online before EBay/ Youtube... Google had just got going a few years before. There were no such terms as "blog", etc. So at the time, it was a pretty radical thing... Now, I tell people it's an online art magazine/ blog that's mainly curated by me and its contributors from San Francisco, Los Angeles, NYC, and wherever really. Been doing it for so long and the web has gone through so many changes... Guess I would call it a forum for art, culture and visual information and stimulation curated through the eyes and ears of a man in his thirties that grew up highly influenced by skateboarding culture, music, art, and life."

"Koop is Oscar Simonsson & Magnus Zingmark.
"When listening to Koops music it's somehow easy to believe that it's played by a small orchestra, but in fact the music is based on samples. Thousands of small clips from records puzzled together into new songs. All the drums, strings, horn sections and choires are actually sampled! This is a very time consuming way to make music (it's one of the reasons it takes such long time to make a koop album), but it's the only way to create the surreal Koop sound. One thing though, that for sure aren't sampled, is the vocals. Many singers has blessed the Koop albums with their talent, and on Koop Islands the singers are : Ane Brun, Yukimi Nagano, Hilde Louise Asbjornsen, Rob Gallagher and Mikael Sundin. Come to me is sung by Yukimi Nagano and is taken from the album "Koop Islands". Marcus Söderlund directed the video in Stockholm."

I was shocked to learn that Yukimi Nagano was only 15 years old when she sang Come to Me for Koop. Thanks for the heads up on this one Buck.
