In it for the Money
Friday night was the debut of In it for the Money in Isla Vista and they killed it! There was a light crowd and the jams were loud and right on the money (if you know what I mean, eh?). Here's few pictures I took from the show and a couple songs they covered, enjoy!
Blew it on the flash.

BEACH FOSSILS: IT'S WHAT EARS CRAVE
LESSONS
by Beach Fossils
This was the first song that got me onto Beach Fossils and it just screams summer activities in sunny Isla Vista.

Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed
SUN MEDALLION
by King Tuff
Sun Medallion was featured on the gritty surf film Lost Atlas by Kai Neville. Trailer and description below:
The movie came out last year and I definitely recommend it for anyone who loves surfing or great jams. The soundtrack is incredible to say the least.

The Luminarium
Ayla
by The Maccabees
Last week at UCSB we were honored to host the Mirazozo Luminarium on the Lagoon lawn. It was there for about 4 days and on the last day, Thursday, I was finally able to go with a small group of friends. Here is a description of the Luminarium from the Architects of Air website:
"Built in 2010, Mirazozo makes extensive use of an ‘illuminated seam’
feature where luminous seam lines create a scintillating lattice of
light. The pattern of these neon-like strips induce the viewer's gaze to
shift between different perceptions of the same view – an effect one encounters in the contemplative geometric surface design of Islamic art
and architecture.
Mirazozo’s center dome is the largest open space structure that
Architects of Air has built - one particularly suitable for hosting
performances. Mirazozo was conceived to be very modular and to permit
compact configurations."
The wait was that of a popular theme park
ride, but well worth it as you will see in my pictures below. I used the Pano App for taking most of the photos.
